Guest speakers are Nick Rose from Sustain\, Callum Rogers from Caring Farms Co-Op and Henry Coleman from Local Futures. The webinar will be moderated by Dr Michelle Maloney\, Co-founder and Director of the New Economy Network Australia (NENA)\, and the Australian Earth Laws Alliance (AELA). \n** This event is part of NENA’s Localisation Week\, which celebrates World Localisation Day 2023 ** \nABOUT OUR SPEAKERS \nNICK ROSE\nNick is the Executive Director of Sustain. With a background In law and community development\, Nick brings more than a decade of working at the grassroots and institutional level in several Australian states in food sovereignty and sustainable food systems. He is the editor of “Fair Food: Stories From a Movement Changing The World (2015)” and the co-editor of “Reclaiming The Urban Commons: The Past\, Present and Future of Food Growing in Australian Towns And Cities (2018).” Nick is also a lecturer in food systems\, food policy and governance and food movements for William Angliss Institute in their Bachelor of Food Studies and Master of Food Systems and Gastronomy. \nCALLUM ROGERS\nCallum is a gardener\, farmer and co-organiser of Caring Farms Co-Op. Located in the urban sprawl of north east Melbourne\, Caring Farms Co-Op is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace by building and running an  urban farm enterprise. They collectively run a market garden\, food plant nursery\, worm farm business and native revegetation works. They facilitate a workplace for people otherwise marginalized from the horticultural industry that sits outside profit driven or large de-personalised employment systems.\n\nHENRY COLEMAN\nHenry Coleman connected with the work of international NGO Local Futures at age 15. He is a writer\, speaker\, project coordinator and ‘big picture activist’\, working closely with Local Futures’ founder\, Helena Norberg-Hodge. He has researched and written about how strategic changes to economic policy could bring about thriving localised food systems which simultaneously support human wellbeing and the health of the biosphere. Since 2015\, he has coordinated projects in Northern NSW\, Australia\, and in Ladakh\, India\, which has informed a global perspective of today’s social and ecological challenges. He is currently based near Lismore\, NSW. \nABOUT NENA\nNENA is a network of organisations and individuals working to create an ecologically healthy and socially just society by transforming Australia’s economic system. NENA works by providing a platform for knowledge sharing\, peer to peer support\, cross-pollination of ideas and collaboration. \nABOUT WORLD LOCALIZATION DAY \nWorld Localization Day is an annual celebration of the worldwide localization movement. It’s more than just a day: it’s an invitation to see the world in a new way.
