DESCRIPTION:This conference\, to be hosted at the University of Sydney February 14 to 16\, 2024\, will bring together lawyers\, policymakers\, nutritionists\, and health scientists to explore how law\, policy\, and regulation can help address food system challenges at the local\, national\, regional\, and global levels. \nThrough a broad and interdisciplinary approach\, the Food Governance Conference aims to share topical ideas\, advocacy and research that moves the dial on food governance issues facing Australia and beyond. The conference will explore issues such as (1) the promotion of healthier diets via food policy and governance (Australian and global case studies)\, (2) Indigenous Peoples food system governance\, (3) equity and social justice in food systems\, (4) food security\, and sustainability\, and (5) commercial determinants of health.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the beautiful Green Connect farm for a weekly Farm Playgroup!\nIt’ll be 2hrs of messy\, muddy fun\, plus opportunities to see our farm\, meet our animals and engage in nature-focused activities. Each week\, along with unstructured play-time in the Children’s Garden\, we will undertake an adventure on the farm\, which might include: \n\nLearning about our fruit forest and tasting what is in season\nExploring our hidden creek\nFeeding the chooks and collecting eggs\nVisiting and feeding our pigs\, sheep or goats\nPlanting seedlings\nWeeding the garden beds\nWatering new seeds\nNature-craft\nCardboard constructions\nStarting a worm farm\nAnd plenty more!\n\nActivities will be offered towards the end of the session and kids will always be given the choice if they want to continue playing or join in. \n\nThis session is aimed at children 12 months to 6 years.\nBabies under 12 months are free with a ticket-holding sibling. If you wish to bring a baby without older siblings\, they will require a ticket.\nAccompanying adults do not need a ticket. Please only 1 adult per ticket-holding child.
